Applying the traditional ceramics technique of "nerikomi," I create works themed around "blue." "Nerikomi" is a traditional Japanese ceramics technique that combines different colored clays to create patterns based on their cross-sections. I make small parts resembling Kintaro candy and combine them to draw intricate patterns.<br><br>My special connection to "blue" is rooted in landscapes that have lingered in my heart since childhood. The moments when the color of the sky changes, memories of temperatures at that time. My hobby is hot air ballooning, and that moment of takeoff at dawn—such feelings of wanting to preserve the "beauty of the moment" forever are at the core of my creation.<br><br>During my university days, I accidentally saw a nerikomi work by a Living National Treasure, and the pure wonder of how such patterns emerge was my encounter with this technique. In my work, rather than meticulously drawing up plans in advance, I often create patterns in rhythm with the moment, learning from the works of my predecessors and continually trying new things every day.
